SGB MEDIA | Wildfires across the Pacific Northwest have led to the closure of numerous campgrounds and trails, impacting outdoor recreation activities. This article highlights the affected areas, safety precautions, and the ongoing efforts to manage and prevent the spread of fires in the region.



As of mid August 2024, there are just under 300 wildfire incidents in the Pacific Northwest (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana). The map below shows the locations of all wildfires in these states at the time of publishing. Of the fires with known sources, human activities may be responsible for an estimated one in every five acres burned (show below as red points on the map).
