Terms of Use & Cookies

Last updated: July 28, 2026

These Terms of Use & Cookies (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the public websites operated by Lodestar Hub, Inc. (“Lodestar,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including lodestarhub.com and any related pages that link to these Terms (collectively, the “Site”).

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. About the Site

The Site provides information about Lodestar, our work, our perspective on outdoor discovery, our partners, and opportunities to request early access or access the Partner Portal.

The Site is primarily informational and editorial. Additional Lodestar products, applications, partner services, or account-based features may be governed by separate or supplemental terms presented when those services are made available.

2. Permitted Use

You may use the Site for lawful, personal, informational, and business-evaluation purposes.

You may not:

  • interfere with the operation or security of the Site;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, the Partner Portal, accounts, systems, or data;
  • introduce malicious code or use the Site in a way that could damage, disable, or overburden it;
  • scrape, harvest, or collect information from the Site through automated means except as permitted by our robots.txt file or with our written permission;
  • impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with an organization;
  • use Site content in a way that infringes the rights of Lodestar or others; or
  • use the Site for any unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose.

3. Partner Portal

Access to the Partner Portal is provided by invitation or authorization.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for activity conducted through your account. You must promptly notify Lodestar if you believe your account or credentials have been compromised.

Lodestar may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the Partner Portal when reasonably necessary to protect the Site, other users, partner organizations, or Lodestar.

Partner relationships, paid services, subscriptions, publishing rights, or organization-specific services may be governed by separate agreements.

4. Early Access Requests and Communications

When you request early access or otherwise provide information to Lodestar, you agree that the information you submit is accurate and that we may use it to evaluate and respond to your request.

Submitting a request for early access does not guarantee access, availability, timing, or acceptance into any early access program.

Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Site Content and Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the Site and its content—including text, design, graphics, logos, photography, video, software, and other materials—are owned by Lodestar or used with permission and are protected by intellectual-property laws.

You may view and share links to public Site pages. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, publish, sell, license, or commercially exploit Site content without our prior written permission, except where applicable law permits.

“Lodestar,” the Lodestar name and logo, and related marks are trademarks or service marks of Lodestar Hub, Inc. Other names and marks belong to their respective owners.

6. Editorial Content and Outdoor Information

Content on the Site is provided for general informational and editorial purposes.

Outdoor conditions, access, closures, hazards, weather, fire activity, road conditions, land-management rules, and other circumstances can change quickly. Site content is not a substitute for current information from land managers, emergency agencies, weather authorities, local officials, or other authoritative sources.

You are responsible for evaluating conditions, making appropriate preparations, following applicable rules, and exercising your own judgment when participating in outdoor activities.

7. Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may link to partner organizations, public agencies, publications, maps, social platforms, and other third-party websites or services.

Those third parties operate independently from Lodestar. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, availability, security, privacy practices, terms, or services. A link does not necessarily imply endorsement.

8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We aim to use as few cookies and similar technologies as reasonably necessary.

Essential technologies

We may use essential cookies or local-storage technologies to:

  • operate and secure the Site;
  • maintain sessions;
  • support Partner Portal authentication;
  • prevent fraud or abuse;
  • remember basic preferences; and
  • preserve choices you make on the Site.

These technologies are necessary for requested features or the reliable operation of the Site.

Analytics

We may use limited analytics to understand general Site usage and improve performance and content.

Where required, non-essential analytics will not be activated until appropriate consent is obtained. The exact technologies used may change as the Site evolves, and our Privacy Policy will describe the categories of information collected.

What we do not use cookies for

Lodestar does not use cookies to:

  • sell personal information;
  • build third-party advertising profiles; or
  • track visitors across unrelated websites for targeted advertising.

Your choices

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential technologies may prevent parts of the Site or Partner Portal from functioning correctly.

Where a cookie preference control is presented, you may use it to accept, reject, or revise non-essential cookie choices.

9. Site Availability and Changes

We may modify, suspend, remove, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time.

We do not guarantee that the Site will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, current, or error-free. We may also update these Terms as the Site and our services evolve.

10. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

Lodestar disclaims warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lodestar and its directors, officers, employees, agents, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising from or related to the Site.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lodestar’s total liability for claims arising from or related to the public Site will not exceed the greater of:

  • the amount you paid Lodestar specifically for use of the public Site during the twelve months before the claim; or
  • US $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Lodestar and its directors, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable costs arising from:

  • your unlawful or unauthorized use of the Site;
  • your violation of these Terms; or
  • your infringement of another person’s rights.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute not subject to a separate written agreement will be brought in a state or federal court with jurisdiction over Kootenai County, Idaho, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above indicates when they were most recently revised.

Your continued use of the Site after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.

These Terms, together with any policies or supplemental terms expressly incorporated into them, constitute the agreement between you and Lodestar concerning the public Site.
